FIFA Live your Goals campaign for girls 25-Sep-2016

Glenorchy Knights recently participated in a Sports Expo at Ogilvie High School.  Students had just finished an 8km walkathon to raise funds for their school and a number of sports provided an expo opportunity for the girls to have some fun.  FFT’s Girls & Womens Development Officer, Holly Ayton joined us and put the girls through their paces with small-sided and fun skills games.  The target goal was a great hit with many of the girls and even some of the teachers scoring a goal. The expo was a great opportunity to promote the FIFA Live your Goals campaign for girls which will be holding events in Hobart from 13 to 15 October - for information on dates, times and locations click here. Glenorchy Knights is looking for players to field teams in Youth Girls (U13 & U14) and Youth Senior (U16 & U17)competitions in 2017. New Appointments 18-Sep-2016

Glenorchy Knights is pleased to announce that we have secured James Sherman as a player and Assistant Coach of our senior mens team and Andrew Brown as our new Technical Director.

James Sherman returns home to the Knights as a player and in a new role as assistant to senior coach Franco Previdi. This is an exciting opportunity for James to be mentored and to develop as a coach with a view to taking over the senior role when Franco steps aside in the future.  We look forward to seeing James in the red, white and blue and to support his coaching ambitions.

Andrew Brown also returns to the Knights where he was part of our highly successful premiership winning team in 2000.  We are excited to work with Andrew to implement a development pathway from our youth to seniors and a consistent coaching philosophy throughout the club.

These appointments are another step in our promise to rebuild our club. We are really looking forward to the 2017 season when we will also be celebrating our club’s 60th anniversary.

PREMIERS Southern Championship 2016 03-Aug-2016

Glenorchy Knights FC wishes to congratulate all players, coaching and support staff, committee, sponsors and our wonderful supporters on winning the 2016 Southern Championship. In the 59 years our club has existed we have always shown great pride and a will to achieve and rise to challenges. We have had more than enough critics in recent years but 2016 has been an exciting year for us.  Glenorchy Knights will strive to do our best for Tasmanian football. We started the year promising to rebuild and that is well and truly underway. We have set clear goals and have a strong focus on further growing our club from Under 6 to senior levels with top coaching and systems throughout the club.  Yes winning the Championship was a focus but more importantly we have achieved a positive club environment.  That is because we have a fantastic group of people running and supporting the club who have shown great loyalty and pride.  Strong culture is important in any organisation and it’s a credit to all involved. Yes players are rewarded for their time and effort and I’m proud to say this will continue.  Well done to our boys, a well deserved premiership.  Tony Bacic, President
