Code of Conduct
Glenorchy Knights is a community-based sports organization committed to promoting a positive playing environment focused on development, fostering strong and respectful sporting relations, and maintaining a professional club image.
This Code of Conduct is aligned and administered in accordance with the provisions of the Football Australia National Code of Conduct and Ethics (2021). It aims to promote and strengthen the reputation of football in our local community by defining the acceptable standards of performance, behaviour, and professionalism for our participants. It also seeks to deter conduct that could damage the integrity of our game and the character of participants.

General behaviour
All individuals associated with the club must:
Show respect and courtesy towards everyone involved in the club, persons from other clubs and the public.
Not engage in offensive behaviour including abusive, insulting, intimidating, indecent or provocative language or gestures.
Care for the club’s property, equipment and facilities.
Player and official conduct
All players and officials are expected to:
Play by the rules and spirit of the game.
Respect referees and officials and refrain from arguments or verbal abuse - football games can’t happen without these people, verbal abuse also detracts from everyone’s enjoyment of the game.
Encourage the talent, potential and development of other players.
Attend training sessions and support club activities.
Comply with behaviour and dress standards.
Pay any fines and abide by any sanctions imposed by Football Tasmania and/or the Club.
Follow all Football Federation Australia and Tasmania policies including those on concussion, privacy and sports betting.
Inclusivity and diversity
The Club is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity. Discrimination of any form, including based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity or special ability/disability, will not be tolerated.
Misconduct
Unacceptable behaviours include:
Inappropriate use of social media or messaging systems.
Violence, abuse, bullying, harassment or victimization.
Use of illicit, recreational and/or performance enhancing substances.
Unruly behavior that brings or has the potential to bring the game into disrepute, this includes the excessive consumption of alcohol.
Reporting and investigation
The Club takes all breaches of this Code seriously. All matters will be addressed by the Club executive confidentially, with sanctions determined and applied as appropriate based upon the severity of the breach, examples including game suspension, financial penalty or expulsion. The Club president is ultimately responsible for such decisions. Outcomes will be communciated in writing within seven days of a decision.
Review
The Club will review this Code annually and update it as required.
Registration Refund Policy
Registration fees are non-refundable. However, the club may at its sole discretion, determine exceptional circumstances apply and that a proportionate refund of registration fees is appropriate. This may include as required by law, such as in accordance with state or federal consumer protection legislation or if the participant has not participated in any form of session, activity, course or program. The club will not provide a refund on governing body fees, unless the participant is eligible based on governing bodies policies.
